Question 1

What is SignalMax Careers?

Accepted Answer

A tool that finds the internships you can actually get. It pulls real openings from company job boards, checks each one against its real class-year, term, and degree requirements, and ranks what is left by how well it fits your major, skills, and coursework.

Question 2

Who is it for?

Accepted Answer

College students looking for internships, in any major or industry. You tell us your school, graduation year, the roles you want, and where, and it does the rest.

Question 3

How is Careers different from LinkedIn or Indeed?

Accepted Answer

LinkedIn shows you who. Indeed shows you what is open. Careers tells you where you can win. Those platforms are built to help you discover and apply broadly; Careers checks each posting against your graduation year, term and academics first, explains why you qualify, and tells you what to fix. Different job, not a better version of the same one.

Question 4

Should I stop using LinkedIn or Indeed?

Accepted Answer

No, and we would not suggest it. Keep LinkedIn for your network and your professional presence, and Indeed for browsing the market. Use Careers so the applications you actually send go to roles you are eligible for and competitive in. Stop using LinkedIn as your internship strategy, not as your network.

Question 5

Do I need an account to try it?

Accepted Answer

No. You can build a quick profile and browse a sample of real matches for free, no account or card needed. The full ranked feed unlocks when you create an account.

Question 6

Can I sign in with Google?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can create your account with Google, or with an email and a password.

Question 7

What does eligibility mean?

Accepted Answer

Every posting is checked against its actual requirements, class year, term, and degree, so you find out whether you qualify before you apply, instead of after.

Question 8

What is the difference between eligibility and fit?

Accepted Answer

Eligibility is a yes or no: do you meet the requirements the employer stated. Fit is a score out of 100: given that you are eligible, how well do your major, skills and coursework line up against what they are looking for. Eligibility comes first and overrides everything. A role you are not eligible for gets no fit score, because the number would be meaningless.

Question 9

How do you know whether I qualify?

Accepted Answer

We read the requirements the employer published, then compare them against what you have told us and what is on your resume. Class year, graduation term, degree level and work authorization are the four we check on every posting. We are reading their stated criteria, not guessing at their preferences.

Question 10

What happens when a requirement is unclear?

Accepted Answer

We say so rather than guessing. Some postings are vague about class year or work authorization. Those are marked as unclear instead of being counted as a pass or a fail, so you can make the call yourself. We would rather show you an honest maybe than a confident wrong answer.

Question 11

How is my fit score calculated?

Accepted Answer

It weighs your major, skills, coursework, and the roles you want against each posting. Every score shows its reasons, so there is no black box.

Question 12

Does a high fit score mean I am qualified?

Accepted Answer

A fit score is a decision-support signal based on the information available, not an employer's hiring decision. It tells you where you stand and what would strengthen you; the hiring call is always the employer's.

Question 13

How do gap closers help me?

Accepted Answer

A gap closer is one specific change, a resume line, a project, a skill or a class, with the number of additional roles it would reach. Instead of a list of everything you could improve, you get the one thing that moves the most matches. Add the proof you already have before you go learn something new.

Question 14

Can it help my resume?

Accepted Answer

Yes. With a subscription it tailors your resume to a specific role and shows the gaps, the resume changes and classes, that would open up more matches.

Question 15

Does it guarantee me an interview or an internship?

Accepted Answer

No. Nothing can, and you should be skeptical of anything that says otherwise. What it does is reduce wasted applications, help you prioritize the roles where you have a real chance, and make the applications you do send stronger. Applying and interviewing are still up to you.

Question 16

What is Ask Max?

Accepted Answer

Ask Max is the conversational way to use SignalMax Careers. You ask questions in plain English about internships, your fit, the market and your career direction, and it answers from your actual profile and the live data.

Question 17

Is Ask Max different from a general AI chatbot?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in what it can see. A general chatbot answers from what it was trained on and has no idea who you are. Ask Max answers from your profile, your resume, your current matches and live posting data, and it cites which of those a claim came from. Ask it which five roles to focus on this week and it names them from your feed. It will also tell you when it does not have the data, rather than inventing an answer.

Question 18

What can I ask Max?

Accepted Answer

Things like: which five internships should I focus on this week, why am I not eligible for this one, what resume change would improve the most matches, and who should I contact before applying. Every answer is grounded in what SignalMax Careers can actually see, and it says so plainly when the data is thin.

Question 19

Does Ask Max know my profile?

Accepted Answer

When you are signed in, yes. Ask Max uses the career information you have given SignalMax Careers, your resume, academic profile, skills and goals, to make its answers relevant to you rather than generic advice.

Question 20

What if I do not know what I want long term?

Accepted Answer

That is completely fine. You can tell us what you want next without committing to a long-term destination, and your direction can change over time. Careers works from wherever you are today.

Question 21

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

You start with a free 7-day trial that needs no credit card. After the trial it is $9.95 a month for everything: your full ranked feed, eligibility checks, score breakdowns, resume tailoring, and daily email alerts. Browsing a sample of matches is always free.

Question 22

Do I need a credit card to try it?

Accepted Answer

No. Create your account and the full product is yours free for 7 days with no card. You only enter payment details if you decide to keep going after the trial, and you can cancel before it ends and never be charged.

Question 23

Can I cancel anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in one click. Cancelling keeps your account and profile, so you can come back with the same email next recruiting season and pick up where you left off.

Question 24

How is payment handled?

Accepted Answer

Through Stripe. We never see or store your card details, and you are not asked for a card until you choose to continue past your free trial.

Question 25

Is there a refund policy?

Accepted Answer

You can cancel anytime and you will not be billed again. If something is wrong with a charge, reach out and we will make it right.

Question 26

Where do the internships come from?

Accepted Answer

Real company job boards and postings, refreshed daily. These are live openings, not a static list.

Question 27

What do you do with my resume and profile?

Accepted Answer

We use them to match and rank internships for you, and to tailor your resume when you ask. If you upload a resume on the free tester, it is read only to pre-fill the form and is not saved.

Question 28

Will you email me?

Accepted Answer

Only if you opt in. With email alerts on, you get at most one digest a day, and only when there is something new. You can change it anytime.

Question 29

What if you get something wrong?

Accepted Answer

Tell us and we will fix it. Eligibility rules are read from postings that are sometimes ambiguous or out of date, and we would rather hear that a role was wrongly filtered than have you quietly miss it. Corrections we make are published.

Question 30

Who is behind SignalMax Careers?

Accepted Answer

It is built by SignalMax. Career intelligence is one of the products the SignalMax platform powers.
